Curriculum alignment with the
Business and Industrial World (DUDI) is one of the characteristics of
vocational education. To achieve this, the Informatics Engineering (TIF) study
program of the State Polytechnic of Jember (POLIJE) held a series of Focus Group
Discussion (FGD) activities and invited
some participants from DUDI.
The FGD activities were carried out
in 2
days with an online concept on the first day and offline by adhering to
the COVID-19
safety protocols on the second day. On the first day, it was opened by the Head
of the Information Technology Department of POLIJE by inviting participants from various industry
representatives such as: PT. Telkom Indonesia, DOT Inc., Mangli Djaya Raya
Inc., etc. Hendra Yufit Riskiawan, S. Kom., M. Cs. stated that "This FGD
activity aims to obtain feedback from stakeholders related to curriculum and
learning content so that the graduates of the JTI of POLIJE can achieve
qualifications which are in line with the need of the industry.

M. Eng. as a moderator explained the profile of graduates, the structure of the
curriculum, and the learning concepts that the TIF study program has, then
followed by discussions and feedback from the participants
related to the
presentation. The first day's activities were carried out in room 3.3. in the
Information Technology Building of POLIJE and attended by Lecturers from the
TIF study program on October 21 2020, online. The activities continued for the
next day in the meeting room of the Information Technology Department of
POLIJE.
Trismayanti Dwi Puspitasari, S. Kom., M. Cs. as the head of the D4 TIF study program gave a statement that the results of the two-day FGDs with DUDI partners as participants include: an overview of product development, the Tech Stack used, the Software Quality Assurance mechanism, and the User Experience testing mechanism used in Industry. Furthermore, the FGD was part of the Vocational Higher Education Strengthening Program (PPPTV) of the Ministry of Education and Culture.
